What is your most unusual talent? I have an uncanny ability to know when things are done in the oven – without any sort of timer. I just kind of know. So that means that I never burn anything. I have a 6th sense about baking and cooking.:)

Tell me something about you that not many people know? I have a motorcycle!! I have had my license since I was 16. It is always something that surprises people.

Do you have any pet peeves? Really loud and obnoxious children in restaurants – particularly when the parents are at the table and appear to be doing nothing or are completely oblivious!

What is the most unusual job you have ever had? Perhaps not unusual, but definitely different… I worked for the Canadian Coast Guard doing Search and Rescue. I spent three summers during my undergrad in the Coast Guard. My first summer was on the St. Lawrence River and my second and third I was located on Northern Georgian Bay. It was an amazing opportunity in which we responded to marine emergencies, medical emergencies, boaters in trouble or lost and doing safety education. I also had the opportunity, for the third summer, to be the Coxswain of the base! It was an amazing job and provided so many amazing experiences!

What is one thing you know now that you wish you would have known on your first day at NPSIA? My experiences at NPSIA have been great! I did a lot of research into the program the summer before I entered, so I felt relatively prepared. I was somewhat understandably anxious. I feel as though it would have been helpful to know just how welcoming and helpful the professors at NPSIA are! They will take the time to speak with you, go over papers, and assist you in any way possible to improve and develop certain academic skills. The Professors are generally very interested to talk to students regarding papers, even if they are not for their classes! This is perhaps the best part of NPSIA!

If it was your last day on Earth, what would be your final meal? The best Pizza in the world! Definitely would need to have bacon and green peppers on it!

If you could meet anyone in the past or present who has impacted the world, who would it be? Nelson Mandela

Come see me if you have a question/interest in… International law – specifically I spent my undergrad looking into issues of human rights and religious freedom.
